Born To Die
Some baby’s first words are Momma. Some are Dadda. If I had to put a dollar amount on it I’d say Jesus’ first words were Godda. Although there is no written record of this statement being made in the Bible I cannot help but believe that it would be any different. You see everything that Christ did on his 33 year journey here on earth was to glorify His and our Father in Heaven. Why would anything be different with the first syllables that ever came from his newborn lips. We all know the story, Born to a virgin outside an Inn that had no room for the creator of the universe. Although they didn't know it at the time the blatant truth is Jesus came to their little town of Bethlehem to be born, get warm and stay safe. But people didn't have room in their selfish hearts to make room for him and his earthly mother and father. I cannot believe the Inn keeper of this manger would take a look at this young couple and say sorry you two all I have is the manger outback. You can have the manger outback to have your newborn child. By the way here are some blankets and a bottle of warm milk to keep your baby warm from the Bethlehem cold night air. Sounds kind of harsh doesn't it but that is how it happened. O
ne of the things that is disturbing here. Even if they didn't know that Jesus was being born that night couldn't have someone offered their room. Even to share. Goes to show you the status of the world's hearts at this time. No wonder we needed then and still need today a savior. When I get up to heaven I am going to ask that Inn Keeper what he was thinking. Now that you know God came to your door that day and you turned him away how does that make you feel. That is if he is in Heaven, the Innkeeper I mean. God could of had his Son born anywhere that night. We could have read that he was born in Tacoma Washington, Jerusalem, Miami Beach. But not any of those places, Bethlehem, where they had no room for him. Must have been some kind of party going on. To be totally booked there must of been some kind of event going on. I mean Seaside Heights in the winter is basically vacant. But in the summer you cannot get a room for a month in advance. The Mardi Gras in New Orleans during its peak season you cant find anything either. You get my drift here. This place must have been happening, well we know that scripture tells us that a census was called for and everyone from that city needed to return to be counted. Wiseman, Shepherds, animals even angels showed up for the birth of our great Lord and Savior. God picked his spot for Mary and Joseph that chilly night to welcome in baby Jesus to this oft times unkind world. I often wonder to myself if Christ knew the second he entered this world that his days were numbered. Although an infant did he feel those nail points against his tender small baby hands. God must have made his back and arm muscles awfully strong because one day about 33 years later this little baby would carry the weight of the world's sin on his shoulders. I wonder if Joseph looked at his newborn son with disbelief. Wondering to himself if this was the way that God In Heaven was going to save us all from our sin. I know it is hard to comprehend but it is all true. That little baby in a Bethlehem manger would soon grow up and give his life up for the whole world to be delivered from their ungodly actions. If you believe this to be true and have come to the point where you have given your life to Jesus, you are what the bible calls saved or born again. I cannot help but believe that Jesus knew his purpose. From his first breath here on this planet that he knew his purpose. That is kind of a crazy thought but I could see the baby Jesus thinking that birthday and wanting to say to his mother Mary. Today you delivered me mom but one day I will deliver you. Some wild thoughts I know but they are just something to think about. The truth is, that day was not the beginning. It all started as soon as Adam and Eve decided to take a bite out that fruit in Garden of Eden and the fall of man-kind began. That was the first day that began this event in Bethlehem to happen and come to fruition. Jesus was on his way long before the Virgin Mary conceived him by the Holy Spirit. He was on his way for the redemption of mankind seconds after the disobedient couple in the Garden of Eden were swallowing their forbidden fruit. Anyway you want to put it He had been born to die. When Jesus comes knocking for a place in your heart to stay safe and warm today. Knowing what you know after reading the Bible and these comments, would you and do you, have room for him there? Think about it. Just think about it. Peace,
AL
